Known in the past as the Queen of the Green Coast Espinho is a city located on the Atlantic coastline, 19Km from Oporto, that despite belonging to the district of Aveiro, is part of the Greater Metropolitan Area of Oporto. It is a small urban municipality with 21 km ² and about 30 000 inhabitants, divided into 4 parishes (Espinho, Anta-Guetim, stopped and Silvalde).

With 8 km of coastline is famous for its beautiful beaches (amazing, not only for swimming and sunbathing, but also is one of the best places in Europe for surfing and bodyboarding), the centenary fair, the various possibilities in tourism and leisure, and for its casino. Espinho is a modern city, a tourist resort of high level receiving thousands of Portuguese and foreign visitors throughout the year. There are two fundamental reasons for this: first, the fact that the city has one of the best climates in Europe.

Second, the place, the fact that a competitive area creates tourist attraction and development. The construction of the city itself is also an important factor as it has a unique geometry, consisting of wide streets in symmetrical squares where the streets have no name, but numbers making navigation extremely simple for any visitor.

Espinho is a perfect city to host an event like FEST for a number of reasons. Located in a prime location, the environmental and landscape features and the ease of access to major urban centers is fundamental.

The railway runs through the city, with direct and regular connections to Porto, Lisbon, Coimbra and Aveiro, among many other destinations. For those arriving by car the roads A1 and A29 are only a few kilometers from the city center. The International airport of Porto, with more than 75 routes to all major destinations in Europe, is the main airport used for the event and is very easily accessed from Espinho.
